Draper 52320 Digital Multimeter
There are enough fuctions on the Draper 52320 digital multimeter to do what any normal DIY user needs.
The Draper 52320 digital multimeter is not much bigger than a mobile phone, it has a soft plastic outer casing to protect it from beinb dropped and comes with a battery.
Among the features it has a diode tester, resistance tester, AC current, DC current and a 9V battery tester. For the AC, DC and resistance tests it has a number of ranges which you can select with dial depending on whether you are testing a car battery or something bigger (up to 200v I believe). The AC range is ample for testing mains current.
The build quality is decent, a moulded plastic shell, protected on the back and round the sides by the lighter blue rubberised coating. This is removable to access the battery compartment, preventing them from falling out accidentally. It takes non-standard size batteries, which is a point to consider if it is to be used heavily. Other issues for continuous use would be a lack of a stand or LCD backlight.
One satisified owner has this to say about the Draper 52320 digital multimeter:
“It took 5 mins to diagnose a problem of a discharging motorcycle battery using this meter. It is well protected by its rubberised case and works well with an easy to see readout, I bought it on the basis of reviews already made and am not dissapointed. Well worth the money.”
